Marbella pays tribute to the Virgin del Carmen
Marbella's most important maritime procession prepares to pay homage to the patron saint. The events of the popular festivity of El Carmen will take place, maintaining some of the modifications that were introduced in 2022, just after the pandemic.
Fewer boats, two routes
The return to normality after the pandemic has already introduced some changes in celebrating the festivity of the Virgen del Carmen in Marbella, the city's patron saint. Next Sunday, 16 July, these same changes will be maintained in a celebration divided into two main events.
The first part will begin at 6:30 in the morning with the religious acts, which will give way to the traditional maritime procession at 10:00 h, from La Bajadilla to the Marina. The second will be the procession of praise at 19:00 h, to take the Virgin to the Church of the Encarnación.
Verbena days in Marbella
During the past few days and on the occasion of the Carmen festivity, Pablo Ráez Boulevard has become a key meeting point in the city. As has become customary, popular street parties have been held there, which have served as a preamble to the more solemn events of one of the most beloved celebrations by the people of Malaga.
