Cross Country to Istán

Among all the benefits of life in Real de La Quinta, the relationship between the resort and the surrounding countryside has to be one of the most special.

The spectacular natural environment is right there on the doorstep and it has an attraction for exploration that is hard to describe.

One of our Ambassadors, Philippe Celis, recently discovered the natural beauty to be found on a mountain bike trip to the white village of Istán, nestling in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves, visible across the Istán Lake from Real de La Quinta.

The trail he followed took him through the stunning valley, and across the stream that runs into the lake, with the reward of a warm welcome and a cold drink in the village!

Just one of the wonderful routes through this completely unspoiled natural reserve which Real de La Quinta has as a neighbour - there is simply so much to explore.
